Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and Shining Armor had been best friends since they could walk. As one was destined to become a princess by prophecy, no pony really expected her to make friends with a common colt. However, as time stretched on, ponies began to realize that their friendship would not falter or waver, and that proved to be true when Shining was picked to walk her down the aisle to be gifted her horn and be crowned a princess, only in their teens. After that night, they were inseparable.

The day Twilight was born, Cadence and Shining Armor stayed in the waiting room, playing games and butting horns jokingly, practicing for his dream of becoming a Royal Guard. As soon as they were called in, Cadence was nearly balling her eyes out at the sight of the filly. As soon as she shed the first tears over her soon to be sister-in-law, Twilight Velvet and Night Light without hesitation considered her apart of the family. From that day on, Cadence started spending more time around Shining’s house, even helping around the house like cooking, cleaning, or training with Shining. She even offered to babysit Twilight when she was old enough for her parents to leave her. However, as time stretched on, her duties as a future princess became more heavier on her back, and she barely had enough time to be with Shining and his family. It barely changed things, though, Shining Armor would just come over to her house, throw a blanket over her when she fell asleep studying, or help her with her princess chores. To say the least, they were best friends until the end, and nothing would change that.
