> "Long live the Pumpkin Queen!" they would cry. A chant before done with little feeling behind it. Once seen as little more than arm candy, the would be queen was thought a poor choice for a strong leader. Even the queen herself felt reluctant to fill such a roll. When there are those that would challenge her rule, proving not just to one's self, but to all that you are fit to be leader sometimes winning followers over requires a firm hand. The destruction of one's enemies can go a long way and the patchwork doll bestowed with Halloween magic can do the trick in short, yet flashy, order.

> A Halloween/Nightmare Night tradition I share with Mingle. Only I usually take one of the ideas that didn't win this year and make my own redition of it. This year it's the Pumpkin Queen partially inspired by Tim Burton's "Nightmare before Christmas." I had a great time with this one. I usually try to capture Mingle's mysterious and sensual nature in pieces like this, but also play to the sinister element in many Halloween themed pieces.
