@Background Pony #703D >everyone who disagrees with me is actually one person with alternative devices did mommy forget to remind you to take your funny pills this morning?
@Background Pony #825F What, you're going to cry to the mods to censore me when you're loosing the argument here too? Keep your drama to /mlp/. People here have nothing to do with that.
@Megalith I don't want people to ignore me. I want people to tell me how things work or what is the mind set of the uploader or what is the reason behind their opinion saying that I need to "take the chill pill". You've explained me how the featured image selection worked and I was content with the answer I've got. You were there when I commented on that fluttershy doodle and when you suggested to make a tag to hide it I was content with the answer I got. Not to mention I always side with archiving every art even if it's bad. I would like to know why do people upload out of focus or poorly lit photos of low effort doodles (other pics I've commented on, not this) and why are posters defending it?
@Background Pony #703D You don’t have to talk about it constantly. A few times makes for conversation, but as it drags on it begs the question of why you aren’t acting like everyone else and ignoring what you don’t like. There are users that consistently downvote certain images and don’t repeatedly comment about it.
You are free to do what you like, but people are free to be annoyed at it as well.
@Background Pony #703D If we did a top quality bar to entry, Batfang and Hattsy would be up 95% of the time. Doing it this way not only lets creators that go out of their way to post on ponerpics get a little recognition, but also a change of pace from seeing the exact same art style over and over.
@Background Pony #703D Featured images are taken from artist uploads directly to the site, and overwhelmingly from images uploaded recently. It is very common for artists to be featured multiple times. So that artists are not regularly featured within too short of a span of time from the last feature, the amount of time that has elapsed since the last time that artist was featured is taken into consideration in the choosing process.
@Background Pony #825F You're suggesting that if I desire this site to improve in its quality I should leave because this site is ignorant to changes and does not strive to become better. As much as I hate to admit putting this work on display very much represents that because for the all the 29 submissions his skills seems to have remained stagnant at being bad. I still hope that's not the case though.
My taste aside I do feel it's rather unfair to contributors that produce actual art. This bumbler was just handed this spot for being bad at drawing, instead of earning it but I'm just white knighting at this point. Though I would like to see something decent being displayed here.
