Emerald says that the potion is part of his deal for Joyride teaching him magic, and that it tastes pretty terrible and that's why he doesn't want to drink it.

"Oh…" Ruby says, not completely convinced, "Okay!"

Emerald and Ruby dine together for a little while longer before Ruby decides she is tired and wants to go to bed.

Emerald looks around after she leaves. He sees Joyride sitting and gambling with some sailors at the other table, playing some sort of card game.

Curiously, he hasn't seen Bo down at dinner yet.
