Bad move, Mr. Staff Sergeant: Her name might be Granny Smith, but the last thing she wants is to feel old!

And here I am bringing this old discussion: Did she have that name in her young days as well? Imagine how embarrassing is being a looker with a name like "Granny Smith". Well, blame those who gave her the name: blame her parents. XD

I would like to apologize about the delay: aside some casual problems in my real life and lack of energy, I was having some artistic crisis: I saw the first four pages and I wasn't satisfied with the results, they were not good enough.

The reason this page took longer than the usual was I needed to redo it, near when it was finished. Honestly my art style leaves a lot to be desired, specially seeing the official My Little Pony's comics from IDW Comics. You can't simply not love these comics.

However, being a webcomic, there must be a balance between quality and quantity. There's nothing worse than wait weeks for the next page, true be told. As well get a half-assed art because you needed to sacrifice quality to post it faster. There's no excuse to rush something, but no one likes waiting too much.

I also did not have a pattern to follow. Most of the webcomics have some pattern, which can improve the work speed as well keep a professional and uniform style. The previous pages had some noticeable differences, specially at page four, as well some pages were bigger, other smaller. Luckily I fixed the problem, from now on all pages will follow this very page you see. It doesn't mean there will be no art evolution, don't worry!

Another problem involves time: I have the help from my friends (these mentioned above), who help me with the story, texts, historical details, ideas… However, art-wise, I draw the pages by myself, from sketch to colors. Currently, aside the comic, I'm working with another friend making graphics for a game project, and more are coming. I need to stop one thing to do another one.

And money, of course. The game production is currently my only option to earn money. I was even thinking in do a Patreon account to earn money with the comic, providing some extra stuff. However, unless it's well-planned, be able to offer solid rewards, you won't make enough money with it. Some are lucky, some are not. Another problem involves copyright. I'm amazed how some people are able to keep large projects based on MLP, in Patreon, earn some good money, and escape from Hasbro's cease and desist letters.

Money might be important. Aside being able to share with my other friends part of the money (since they deserve), with it I could hire more people to aid me. But it's worthless if you don't earn enough. And honestly, despite the need of money… I simply don't care about it. Our lives will end sooner or later, without any warning. And I draw this comic for fun, to deliver the story, and leave some legacy and a nice story to be read by others. I make this for passion, for joy, for fun, to me and everyone else. What's money compared with the joy of sharing your ideas with your friends and everyone else, right? =)

True be told, it would be great getting an extra hand to help drawing the comic, even though I don't have money to pay him/her currently. Maybe in the future…

Besides, I want to continue studying and learn more, and maybe be able to make the pages almost as good and professional as IDW Comics' My Little Pony. Be able to work with better inking (outlines), better colors, shading, etc.

Uff, what a long text! XD If you compare this page with the previous ones, there are many differences. I thank my friend Herrmain-Fegelein for corrected me about their uniforms, providing information and a big help. I took the opportunity to make some changes and retcon some things: Granny Smith's hair and scarf, some touches in the background and so on. With this I'll need to redo the previous pages as well the cover. But my priority is the next pages.

Now… I'll take a brief pause to organize myself, organize the universe, story and characters, sketch the next pages, help my other friend with the game design. But it won't take long, don't worry! Once again, thank you all for reading and enjoying the comic so far!
