Anyways… Unlike her friends, Apple Bloom found it harder to determine what she was good at. Scootaloo was sorry she wasn't there to help Sweetie Belle in her time of need… But now it was Apple Bloom's time to shine. Yet, she didn't know how…
For a long time, Apple Bloom had helped on the farm with Applejack and family, but ever since she'd turned 21, her friends had left her. Sweetie Belle was a famous pop star and Scootaloo was a stunt master in tons of movies.
Apple Bloom knew she needed to keep in touch with her friends, yet she didn't know how. She talked to Applejack one night and Applejack said to go out into the world, do what she loves, and at least try making some new friends.
Apple Bloom, of course, complained to her older sister. New friends? NEW FRIENDS! How was she supposed to make new friends?
Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo had always been her best friends… Her only 2 friends. Sure Diamond Tiara and Silverspoon had become a little nicer to her back in the day, but they haven't really talked to her much since she was in the 5th grade. Once Apple Bloom was in middle school, they were barely in any of the same classes.
So, Apple Bloom took AJ's advice and went out into the world. First, she tried carpentry, but Apple Bloom accidentally spilled some nails on one of her fellow acquaintances which made him burn the wood with his magic. That was the end of that job for her and she lost some pony who could've became her friend.
Next, Apple Bloom decided she'd pay another old friend a visit. She helped Tender Taps run a dance class since he was now a dance teacher in Canterlot. Of course something else just HAD to go wrong! Apple Bloom tried teaching the kids a few moves, but they all ended up crashing into the walls or poles. What a disaster…
After that she tried being a teacher at a school, a mail pony, a construction worker, etc… But I think you all know how those turned out.
Depressed, Apple Bloom decided to look back at a few childhood pictures. She noticed one though that really caught her attention. The day that Applejack lended her old treehouse to the girls, Applejack had taken a photo of her with a paint brush in her mouth.
THAT WAS IT! Apple Bloom was good at fixing things up and making them look good. I mean, it was worth a shot. Apple Bloom knew she was a bit of a klutz, but painting and being creative was something she could definetly do besides work on the farm.
Apple Bloom signed up for a job for painting pony's homes and she got it. Working with people's walls, fences, etc… Was something she didn't mind doing. Besides, Apple Bloom knew she couldn't live in her sibling's shadows forever. Luckily, she could easily make thousands of bits off of this job. And even if the walls in pony's houses looked good, Apple Bloom knew she was a mess… Not just any mess, but an imperfect, silly, hardworking, achieving mess.
Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle also decided that they'd meet up with Apple Bloom every few weeks. Everything worked out just fine in the end. Diamond Tiara and Silverspoon ran a jewelry store on the South side of Ponyville and they also kept in touch with her later. Tender Taps stopped by to see Apple Bloom and so did Pip and Babs once in a blue moon. Even if it was hard, Apple Bloom made new friends at her new job. But not only that…
She also made NEW memories.
