Description:
This little collage shows the development from a raw rock of soapstone (which I had originally meant to carve into a dragonhead) into a figure of Applejack. There was no carving done between the final four images, but they demonstrate the difference it makes if you polish the carved stone with some oil or wax that gives the stone a shiny look and stronger colors.
