I had passed by a Toys R Us a block ago, couldnt even turn away from the shining beacons of light that were the TV monitors behind the front windows. And what did I see? Why the new My Little Ponies of course, hottest selling toy on the market. And passed those monitors I could see a few lucky little princesses getting their own miniature horse in absurd color schemes. If you had met me back when I was a child and told me that someday I would actually see little girls walking alongside real life Little Ponies Id no doubt look at you like youve got plenty of screws lose.
What a world huh? Some pharmaceutical company perfects creating new sentient organic life through genetic experimentation and then some toy company decides to buy it up then turn it into another goddamn commercial product on the market. Yeah, thank you science. Thanks a lot. Next think yknow theyll find a way to give these things wings and Pegasus horns that squirt magical bubbles. Oh and I do love the 250 dollar price tag on theseanimals (if that is indeed what they are). What a world I live in.
A block or so later, I suddenly see it. One of those animals in the alleyway to my right. It was a yellowish hue with pink hair, butterflies on its flank. It had fallen over some garbage cans and is all covered in rain and muck. I also see what looks like wounds around its neck and arm, red as crimson. It stumbles a bit before it just finally stops moving, it lays there on the ground as if it had nothing left to keep going. I still cant fathom why I was compelled to approach it. I stood over the creature, it was still breathing if only heavily, it looked so pathetic as it laid there almost like it was waiting to just die. I just stood there for a moment or two looking down on this thing, all the while something deep inside me was an inner voice screaming so loud I could almost hear it in my ears like someone was actually there calling to me
WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU JUST DOING STANDING THERE YOU DIPSHIT?! HELP IT! SAVE IT!
So now here I am, this pathetic thing in tow. This animal is still breathing, still alive. It was a little heavy, almost like carrying an actual twelve year old child. My arms are starting to ache a little. Im almost home though, Im almost there. I got you little one, just hang in there, youll be alright. I got you.
