Names most ponies use: Rosie, Rose Gender: Female Sexuality: Omni Parents: Rarity & Fancy Pants Species: Unicorn Talents/Abilities: Perfect pitch. A wide vocal range. Gifted at reading other ponies on the spot. Shortcomings: Self centered. Not very forgiving. Has a flare for the dramatic, even when it's really not wanted. History: Rosalie was the surprise child of Fancy Pants and Rarity. The two parents, though they had not planned to have children, were instantly captivated by their daughter and doted on her as much as they possibly could. Rosie was quick to bond with her 'papa' and Fancy was eager to give his daughter all the toys, clothes and spare time he could muster if it would make her happy. Since he still worked in Canterlot and couldn't be home in Ponyville all the time, the personal time they spent together meant more to her than any gift. Rarity had to put a little more effort into getting her daughter to listen and behave, but Rosie eventually grew just as attached to her mother as she had her papa. When Rosie was old enough to start school, Rarity tried to enroll her in a nice school in Canterlot, but Fancy wouldn't hear of it. He had seen personally what being raised around the wealthy elite could do to a pony's personality and way of thinking. Instead he talked Rarity into enrolling her in the Ponyville school, where she could grow up alongside the other children of the Elements and hopefully grow into a more well-rounded mare. Rosalie started school the same year Lacey and Apple Blossom did. She was quick to befriend most of the well minded ponies and even at a young age found herself drawn to Lacey Rose's company. She found the quiet filly, welcoming and enjoyed having someone to talk to who would just listen for hours on end. Over the years, Lacey became her go-to bestie and the girls were hardly ever seen apart in town, at school and even at Rarity's boutique. Once Lacey started apprenticing in Rarity's shop however, Rosie had to find other means of entertaining herself. Up until then she hadn't given much thought or care to what her special talent or cutie mark might be. She actually found her bare flank to be pristine and perfect and would have been happy without a mark. But, after stumbling into a Karaoke bar one night and being mistakenly shoved on stage, she discovered that she LOVED the thrill of singing in front of a crowd. She'd always enjoyed singing and her parents had always said she had a beautiful voice, but it wasn't until she heard the applause and cheers that night that she realized she wanted to do this for the rest of her life. She went home that night, sporting a new cutiemark and a new life goal. Thanks to Rarity's connections with Sapphire Shores and even a few talks with Coloratura, Rosalie was signed on as an opening act for a few concerts. After that she released her first, small album which sold far better than anticipated. From there she was signed to a record label and was sky rocketed to stardom. She still lives in Ponyville, and spends the winter season there every year, but the rest of the time she's usually on tour, promoting her newest albums, making appearances at events and being the star she was always meant to be.
