The first of my Certificates of Awesomeness for long term Patrons; this is for my wonderful admiral who has borne with my slowness these many months (I'll have that other painting any day now, I swear ).
Anyhoo, this here's tiny catbirb Der again, this time as an Admiral perched atop a spoke of the ship's wheel. Painted this yesterday in one sitting on the picarto stream; ~8-9 hours of basically freeform brushwork. Loose, sloppy, and fun. Since this is basically a R.N. pattern Admiral's coat it really ought to be blue, but scarlet just made the picture work so much better.
Single layer, mostly the standard flat oil brush and a tiny bit of the 'running colour' blender in the sky.
