But first, let's analyze the show as the whole thing. From the first episode, the protagonist — Twilight faces a bunch of unavoidable ponies, which sooner or later, without any doubt, like in any reality, become her true friends. The show works on a kindergarten level, however. It doesn't bring topics from the adult world, but don't worry. The dark content is well hidden and can be revealed in the show, like cutie mark crusaders singing during the funeral procedure. Isn't that dark?
The main six characters are intended to be blank on purpose. Each character represents a certain behavior we all experience from time to time. But these behaviors are focused on kids to serve as an influence for them so they can start making friends. If you're confused, The example below summarises this well.
Why does Rainbow Dash symbolize the element of loyalty, not bravery? The answer is — these six poorly written ponies have an impact on a little girl to act like them (and ask her parents to buy some pony merchandise). Sure Rainbow Dash is a brave persona, but the main plot is not about it. It is about finding friends and giving the tips of how to do it: be loyal to your friend on that matter. Being brave to protect your friend could work for Rainbow Dash too, but because this show is for little girls, we cant follow that… (an unwanted pun failure)
Alright, alright, we are wasting time. These lessons will fail in reality anyway. And that's why I find it diabolically interesting.
——————————————————————————————————————————— *I would also want to identify what a friendship problem is to me because I would refer to it later. Before it began to be a shiny ass trigger — it was a bad consequence, provoked by not following six key relationship pieces of advice — being honest, kind, funny, or I would say not so serious all the time, generous and loyal. The friendship problem in the show has an impact on the audience to make them think about their actions and find what they did right and what wrong. When a child doesn't follow MLPs friendship bits of advice, he becomes in theory alone. That is why all episodes are focusing on staying the way you should be, by trying to create the friendship problem and let our pony heroes solve it.
Oh! And I cant just take letters to Celestia and rephrase them. This is tricky. these lessons are covering only one half of the friendship problem. They are mostly giving the solution to the situation the protagonist faces. There is always a hidden meaning behind it, which a kid should get intuitively by his critical thinking.
In short — all I'm saying about the plot is that if you are a lonely degenerate, that's because you've probably not got one of mane six way of living right :V
