Hoooboy where to start with this?
Rares you beeein' too cuuuuuute!


It's no secret that I just don't draw Rarity that often. In fact, I've only drawn her a handful of times. But I think that in comparison to my last attempt, this is a huge improvement.

Now, I was trying to do several things here. One, draw her better. And two, figure out some stupid way to draw her hair. Was I successful in that? I'm not entirely sure. But I think that I for sure have something here to definitely resembles Rares. And she's being all adorable.


Several things I wanna say. For one thing, my linework is much MUCH more in proportion and just overall…better…when I draw traditionally. There's still something about digital art that linework messes me up somehow. And I still don't know why.

As for her hair….I kept wanting to make it fluffy…that is my style after all. But I resisted the urge as best I could. At least, I hope.


My plan from here is to actually take this piece, and my previous Fluttershy piece and color them digitally, in the same way that I did the commission for dSana way back when. it's a method that worked really well, but I need to streamline the process before I feel like I can comfortable do it. And do it faster than I did last time as well.

So…in short…I'm honestly really happy with this. Until a month from now when I don't because it's not as good as I thought. I'm gonna color this digitally and see how that works out. And I'll continue seeing what works for me and what does not.
