Thoughts on the Trio seems to differ based on the site you visit
MLP on 4chan: hates what the writes did to them
Derpibooru: the Trio got they deserved (even the Child)

From all of the arguments I have read, I think that the better arrangements where made for the villains to be redeemed. I am not really because of biased. More due to the fact that there where more points made for them compared to the go too "they were evil and deserved it".
Heck I could make the argument that Chrysalis should have turned into a colorful bug due to her name (then get flustered and change to her old form). True it dumb, but this is a world were names seem to say everything about an individual
