Many things changed within Everfree City's surrounding forest in the years after the fight between Celestia and Nightmare Moon. It evolved, shifted and mutated, especially quickly because of the magic the conflict drove into the earth, water and very life itself. As it recovered, the forest took whatever it could to heal itself— and so it remembered the city, its roads, its huts and even the welcoming atmosphere and furniture of the castle as it was a long time ago.
If one is lucky enough, they'll stumble across a natural garden in a clearing, decorated with beds, benches, tables and chairs that nopony ever placed there, clean and seemingly untouched by nature or time. The purpose of such a garden's existence is unknown, but the unspoken invitation is obvious to any visitor: have a seat, stay a while, bring a picnic basket with you and nap the afternoon away afterword. All the forest expects is that you leave everything exactly as you found it.
