Mulberry examines the cracks on the skull. The huge cracked gash cuts through all three runes. Because the runes won't even activate unless they are accurately depicted the mare has no doubt in her mind that changing their shape caused them to break. Just to make sure, she crushes the skull under her hooves. Much to her luck, the bone seems to have lost the hardness it previously had.

Mulberry examines the bones to see if she can figure out how it died, but she doesn't really have the expertise to determine that for sure, especially since the bullet damaged the skull pretty badly.

she gathers the pieces that she can and throws them into one of the boxes, stacking some of the other old crates on top of it to keep it shut. Hopefully that's enough to keep them from reanimating if they can.
