Enter Pepperberry. She grew up on a wild berry farm on the edge of Dodge Junction with her adoptive Earth pony family. One day, the Wonderbolts stopped in the town to spend the night on their way to a show in Rainbow Falls. Pepper was spending the day at her family’s stand with her dad, Briar Patch, when a group of buffalo ne'er-do-wells began to bully a nearby apple vendor.

Luckily, the Wonderbolts were touring the small town at the same time. They were attracted to the marketplace by a loud stream of swears coming from a bright pink Pegasus who was brandishing a pitchfork at the buffalos. The buffalos, though three times her size, were cowering. Rainbow Dash trotted over to the Pegasus and descalated the situation but complimented her guts. Rainbow Dash then offered her a chance to tryout to be her personal guard. Pepper’s only question was if she could have a spear.

Enter Scootaloo. Rainbow Dash wanted a pony who had her back and who didn’t mind being a hype mare for the second most flamboyant Element of Harmony. With her wings and flight ability no longer being an issue, she’s a strong member of the Knights of Harmony. Interestingly, only Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle know the secret behind her wings. And since they aren’t telling, neither am I.
