Description:

I forgot to post this image of the "Bunte Yak", the ship comanded by Captain Magister Wavebolt, and steered by Geargriff, the NPCs for our pen and paper RPG who I have uploaded before.
The name "Bunte Yak" means "Colorful Yak" and it is a historical alusion to the "Bunte Kuh", a madieval ship that became known for its role in bringing down Klaus Störtebecker and several other (in)famous pirates in 1401.
Within the setting of our game the Bunte Yak has an illustrious story of its own. Originally she was part of the Crystal Empire's Navy. You can see the crystal battlements on the stern- and bowcastle of the ship and the crow's nest. Those crystals extend to the inside of the ship and in game they provide a convenient light source (avoiding the risk of any fire on the ship). Instead of a single bowsprit she got two horn shaped sprites (contributing to her name) which can be angled via capstans within the forecastle, so the jibs attached to the "horns" can be alligned to catch as much wind as possible no matter the course.
In the lore of our pen and paper RPG, the Bunte Yak was beached and heavily damaged during the battle off the Galloper Sand (27 years prior to the events of our RPG) and abandoned by the Crystal Empire's navy after the battle. But then young Captain to be Wavebolt and Geargriff a griffon whom he had shot with a sling and saved from drowning afterwards during the battle fixed the ship and have been sailing on it ever since.
Apart from the two already posted here there are two more permanent members of the crew. Waffle Iron is a unicorn mare and the ship's cook. By captain Wavebolt's own estimation there would be an instant mutiny if ever Waffle Iron stopped providing the crew with her delicious waffle based cuisine that beats any other ship's provisions any time.
And Sea Shell is an earthpony sailor and the absolute epitomization of a sailor pony. She is a very good fiddle player but rarely ever talks. But if she does talk you better take cover. During the players seavoyage she managed to scare of a huge leviathan with her unspeakably profane cursing (which in game was only described for the effect it had on the poor sea monster rather than any of it being literally quoted :D .
During our most recent game session the players on board of the Bunte Yak were badly shaken up by a severe storm including a freak wave that once again left the poor ship beached and damaged on the shores of the Griffish Isles where the main adventure of our group is going to play out.
Next Sunday is our next session and I will probably be able to release several more images after that which so far have to be held back to avoid any spoilers for the players in our group.
There is another version of this image with the sails reffed rather than hoisted.
