Phew, this took me a couple hours to finish. I dislike drawing outlines but I wanted to make it look closer to the Friendship is Magic style. I also tried to draw the eyes in the style of FiM. I used Google image search for help to have donkey pictures as a reference, and I also had a couple Google pictures of Twilight and Pinkie Pie up so I could have a reference for the FiM eye style. At first I drew the way I normally draw eyes (they're a lot smaller than the FiM style) but it didn't look right so I decided to try drawing eyes in the style of the show.

Lately I've wanted to draw my own original character, instead of using a Pony Maker, even though I'm awful at drawing hoofed animals. At first I wanted to draw an Earth pony, knowing I would be a pathetic Pegasus on account of my fear of heights and a poor unicorn because they require a certain amount of mental prowess in order to use magic. Later on though I decided to not make myself anything. Instead I created an original character that was a donkey. :) I think they're cute, sweet and strong animals. Also, since it doesn't seem that any animals besides ponies can get Cutie Marks, I didn't have to go through a huge soul-search so that I could pick which one suited her, though she of course would still have her own special talents and such. Though I wanted Sylva to represent me a bit, I gave her a different name than mine.

I did create a Cutie Mark for the Earth pony character I created with General Zoi's pony maker, but that was just for fun and not meant to be a character I would use anywhere.

(Edit) I changed the scenery to nighttime because my daytime background was boring. :3

I'm hoping I'll re-do this drawing and even make some more donkey characters…I do really like donkeys, and I've been making lots of pony OC's lately. That's helped me get better at drawing though so now I can draw a hopefully nice picture of my donkey OC!
