Description:

The hills of the Deepwell Barony weren't what polite company would call beautiful. A strange phenomenon, partly natural, partly pony-made, made the landscape strange and dark. Plants grew not in the natural green, but inked a deep purple, nearly black. Tall trees were rare, instead, crooked little bushes with dark tendrils for leaves dotted the landscape. — From these strange plants, the Unicorn Kingdom extracted the copious amounts of ink and paint used for their many books.

For little Regal Inkwell — Inkie, to his parents, this was home. And the fond memories of playing in the darkened fields would make him ever fond of their strange smell and the odd animals that came to live in them.

Dunno, decided to draw something from my OC's foalhood. Wrote up a bit of random lore.

I also attempted to do a background, but after realising I could not draw backgrounds, I decided to instead take a photograph of a real world place and just deep fry it with Photoshop filters. Don't judge me just because I'm a bad artist :P
