Diminishing Returns (-1) affects your roll. You roll a 9 -1 (required 10). Partial success.

Repeating the same action multiple times decreases your chances of success by 1 each time. This penalty is called Diminishing Returns, and can be avoided by doing a different action every other turn.

You continue mining with your brass horseshoes. Bucking at the cave wall again, you hit a curve unevenly, and break off a smaller piece of stone.

You get 2 Gemstones!
