It was the beginning of the day. The world was still sleeping under the dark cover of the starry sky. The little town under the mountains wasn't ready to start their normal lives, there was still time to rest. Wind was singing the calmest melodies, encouraging everyone to stay in their warm shelters. It would seem that nothing would dare to disturb this peace.
"Come on Blossom! We don't want to be late! I've been waiting the whole night for this!"
The loud and cheerful voice echoed around. The dark and bushy woods suddenly gained a sign of life at this early hour when a red stallion zoomed through the woods, jumping over overgrown roots and squeezing between the narrow gaps between the trees. Every few seconds he would stop and look back with an anticipating smile on his face.
"You're gonna love it! It's better than any paragraph in the most descriptive book You've ever read!"
"How would You know? You don't read books, silly."
A blue mare peaked from behind the trees, trying to avoid any traps nature might have planted. When she finally caught up to her companion, he started moving deeper into the woods again, but this time, seeing that she is having a difficult time, he made an effort to clean the path at least a little with his magic.
"I hope You don't see it as too much of a hassle, my dear. You know I only want You to experience the best part of living! Of course, that's how I see it, but You don't have to…" A slightly nervous expression overcame the stallion's happy attitude. He really meant well and didn't want to force her to anything that she may find uncomfortable or underwhelming.
"You worry too much, Frolic" While he was holding a branch to let her pass, she approached him and looked at him with her deep, red eyes. "Any experience around You is the best part of living."
Blossom winked at Frolic and proceeded forward. It was impossible to see a blush on a red coat, especially when it was still so dark. He let out an awkward, but genuine laugh. He was truly happy that she said yes to this little adventure.
The vines and leaves started getting sparser, indicating the incoming open area. Frolic sprinted forward, leaving a gust of dust behind. He jumped on a pile of flat rocks in front of the green curtain. It was getting lighter and lighter with every minute. A red hoof reached Blossom to help her get up. She accepted the offer.
"What do You want to show me?" Blossom asked with a gentle smile adorning her face. Her excitement was hidden deep within her.
"Well…" Frolic started, his eyes were sparkling with delight "…You can see what I want to show You for what it is, but I want to turn this into an offer that You won't be able to refuse! It's that good!" It's obvious he's trying not to let it overwhelm him. "You know I've been traveling a lot, always leaving one place to see the next one. The thrill and satisfaction I'm getting from this is incomparable! There's always something new to experience, there's always a new person You can meet, a person You can help. There was always one problem with it though…"
Blossom tilted her head with curiosity.
"One problem, You say?"
Frolic laughed quietly, as if he wanted her to ask this question. He walked up a few more rocks and raised his hoof towards the vines.
"…You couldn't experience all of that with me."
Nothing was blocking the view anymore. Blossom leaned on the rocks and looked out into the distance with a sense of wander in her eyes.
The sun was raising from between the mountains. The purples were mixing with oranges in such a mesmerizing way, that the mare couldn't stop looking and admiring the scene that was presented to her. Sunrise was truly the most wonderful and magical time of the day, it was undeniable. At least those were the feelings flowing within Blossom. All of this admiration was present in both of them, but Frolic wasn't looking at the beautiful landscape, his eyes were fixed on the mare's expressions that painted a picture of happiness on her face. In his mind he was happier than her at this moment.
The sun was getting higher and the light was covering their coats. Frolic sat down next to Blossom with hope in his soul.
"I believe You know that I'm expecting You to say something, riiiight?" Frolic used his puppy eyes on her.
"I never traveled far in my life. I'm used to one place, one town, one view and one way of living. This way of living is…"
She was searching for the right word, in the meantime Frolic was trying not to die inside from the prolonging wait.
"Yes Blossom..?" He tried getting the answer from her with a subtle nudge. She looked at him and started giggling.
"It's boring. I would much rather go make my own stories with You than wait for them to come to me"
The answer was exactly what Frolic wanted to hear, which made him start laughing in relief. He almost started crying, but tried to calm himself down. Blossom found it very amusing, to say the least.
"So now You'll take me on an adventure?" Blossom wanted to know what's gonna happen next.
"Now…" The red hoof pointed forward. "…all that You see will be explored. Our adventure can officially begin!"

I'm happy to show You a piece of art that will born more adventures of the amazing Blossom Oak and Frolic Rune! ;D Yes, I'm planning to start releasing more of cute and fun adventures of these two Even though Jordan was the main pony appearing in my gallery, I still want to give my red and blue OCs some exposure ;3 Especially since they can give me so many possibilities for illustrations! It will also force me to post more and learn to draw different things.
With every new illustration I will post a new story for You to read. I believe most of them will be just a glimpse of their adventures, but who knows what will happen in the future? I don't even know what's gonna happen after high school that I'm about to finish ;u; I hope I'll find some time to create more and show more as well. I believe You would like to see me more active.
While we're at it, I want to announce that I finally have a Twitter account! Well, I had it for a while now, but never actually decided to do anything with it. DeviantArt was my only platform and it's still my main platform. I just want to reach out to people who don't check DA that often I'll be posting mostly Frolic and Blossom there, so please keep that in mind.
