Taking a moment to chew and swallow before answering back, Sunset simply chuckled. “You’re doing… okay. Just don’t worry.”
“Well, I wouldn’t worry so much about it if that livechat of yours was at least a little nicer.” Starlight stated as her unaccustomed thumbs fumbled clumsily across the controller.
“Welcome to the internet…”
Of course, it was no wonder she needed to readjust herself. It’s been far too long since she last visited this world.
Although Sunset had been able to make a few visits to Equestria (looking bigger every time), neither Starlight nor Princess Twilight have been able to do the same. “Things just got really crazy for us,” Starlight had explained as she recounted some of her recent adventures with her pony companions.
While their alicorn friend couldn’t make it this time due to some royal obligations, Starlight was so excited to see Sunset once again, that she simply couldn’t wait any longer. Her stay, however, was not exactly what she had expected.
Granted, it really shouldn’t have been that surprising to see how massive Sunset has gotten. She did have trouble fitting through the portal a few months ago. But to still see her hugely obese figure taking up nearly the entire couch was really… something else.
It made sense why they just sat around and played video games all through Starlight’s first night, followed by a full day of more sitting around and talking. Sunset was simply getting too heavy to really move herself around much. And judging from how much she was stuffing herself, it was clear her weight gain wasn’t going to slow down anytime soon.
At first, Starlight didn’t mind so much. She was already well aware of the magically weighty situation going on for a majority of people in the area. Sunset made sure to keep her informed of that. It was only a temporary set-back, all things considered. And thankfully everyone seemed to adjust over time.
Still, she couldn’t help but feel a tinge of disappointment. Sunset had said that she wanted to show her around the town during her last day, but it just couldn’t happen. The Twilight Sparkle of this world, who was looking quite large herself, offered to give the tour instead.
As fun and delightful as it was seeing all sorts of sights (and in Twilight’s case, eating plenty of food), Starlight’s mind was still on Sunset. She had to leave the next morning, and they unfortunately didn’t get to do as much as she had hoped for.
Even though she knew that things would resolve themselves sooner or later, deep down, Starlight felt that there's something more that needs to be done…
