actually still have a lot more i want to discuss but like… this post in itself shouldve been split in two tbh lmao so i'll save it.
anyway, it's time i properly talked about Zephyr and his antics.
Like in the show, Zephyr for the longest time had an incredibly painfully obvious crush on Rainbow Dash, right from childhood, and never seemed to actually let it go.
See, Mr and Mrs Shy were very timid and rather relaxed parents, and combined with his very bold and insistent attitude, Zephyr had sorta… never really been told no before, in his life — So when Rainbow repeatedly told him no, for years, he didn't really understand it? He just thought she was too embarassed to admit she felt the same way.
It isn't until, many years down the line, when Rainbow is in a loving, serious relationship, with a literal demi godess over him, does he realise. Oh. You know I think the rainbow pony might have been gay this whole time. Needless to say he's got a lot of feelings about it…. Embarassement, mostly. He's not really sure how to handle it.

Cue Bulk Biceps!
Bulk works at the ponyville spa as a massage therapist, and spends his evenings running a weight lifting programme for ponyville residents. He in particular trains poundcake, taking him under his wing when the colt started to show an interest in weight lifting right from a very young age. More on that another time, though.
The class is open to ponies of all skill levels. Whether theyre just starting out, or are almost pros, bulk is the ultimate hype man that will always give you strong encouragement and helpful tips.
Zephyr joins his weight lifting class one evening, as one of his many passion pursuits to try and find his true purpose — He is, of course, absolutely awful at it, and quickly finds it might not be his thing, despite Bulk's best efforts — But, despite this, and his track record of giving up on several different pursuits at the drop of a hat, Zephyr seems…. actually determined to keep at it this time? Why? Is it a need to finally prove himself? A need to show he's a better stallion than Rainbow ever saw him as? That he's worth something…?
No. the instructor is an absolute hottie. Sometimes a man has simple interests.
