In terms of writing and structure all the movies are the same. The only variations go from technical execution, tone and quality of the acting. I'm not a fan of any of them, not even the 1978 version, not for any reason other than, well…it's a movie that feeds on paranoia and mistrust, and really makes you feel like you're alone in the world, especially the ending of the '78 remake. That feeling is very similar to what keeps me concerned and worried basically every day, and quite frankly after the events of 2020 I've been filled with that to a rather unhealthy degree.
This isn't the movie's fault, of course. Not punishing a movie for something that is entirely personal. So, not my thing, but very much would recommend it to everyone out there. It's a classic for a reason, might not go as far as calling it a landmark, but it's definitely worth your time.
