Today, I'm going to expand on her character some, give a little backstory, and really share where my head is at in regards to her. There are some adult themes that will be discussed! Nothing graphic, but mentions of sex and such. Be warned! Do no proceed if underage or you're not comfortable with this topic!

To start off, she is NOT a part of any of my already mentioned universes, neither the Heartbreakverse nor the Guardianverse. I've made a new universe just for her, haven't decided what to call it, maybe just the Lemonverse? I don't know yet. If at some point I expand on the world she lives in more outside of just her character, I might come up with a proper name then. Right now we're just really focused on Lemon and who she is.

Lemon is my ponysona! Does this mean that Affinity isn't? Nope! They are both my ponysona! They just exist in different worlds and honestly I made them to help me with different parts of myself. My art is all about me expressing myself and enjoying myself, it's a really selfish thing honestly, but it's one of the few things I'm really selfish about in my life so I don't mind. I just want to do what makes me happy :)

Lemon is an alicorn and a princess! I really just made that decision because while designing her I thought it looked really pretty, but now it's also given me the opportunity to really explore that part of her character and figure out why she became an alicorn. I'll be explaining more about that down below.

Lemon is part crystal pony! As you can see, she has crystal eye shines, a very distinctive mark of a crystal pony. She's not 100%, characterized by her non-gradient mane, but is instead half earth pony.

Getting the big points done and over with, lets get into just normal character information and then her backstory.

Cutie Mark Story: (This is lengthy but trust me it's all relevant, obviously this isn't your average cutie mark.) Lemon was a really late bloomer, not receiving her cutie mark until she was 19. As a very nervous and anxious filly, she was very over protected by her mother and even when her siblings were born she never took on that big sister roll and ended up being more protected by them. Living such a sheltered and fearful life, she had a lot of trouble discovering herself and never really explored the world outside of her mother's home. She loved to bake and thought for sure that had to be her talent, but alas it never seemed to be it.

When she was 17, she caught two of her younger sisters hiding something from their mother and went to them to find out. Since Lemon never really tattled on them or scolded them, they showed her what they had… which was an erotic novel. For the first time Lemon took on that big sister roll and confiscated the book, telling them she was ashamed they would have something like this as they were far too young. The girls gave in, more surprised their oldest sister had a spine more than anything, and didn't mention the event again. Lemon, however, kept the book and in secret would spend hours reading and rereading it. That's when she learned of a desire she'd never felt before, sexual desire.

This lead to her seeking out more books like this and the more she read the raunchier they got. She hid this from her family, of course, and everyone else she knew as she couldn't imagine sharing with the world such shameful desires. With this she also discovered masturbation and such, learning all kinds of things about herself, and when her 18th birthday rolled around she finally plucked up the nerve to seek out a partner. She chose to have her first time with a very close friend of hers, October Breeze, someone she trusted and cared for and knew he cared for her. They ended up dating for a while after that, but Lemon never shared the secret of her shameful desires for fear that he would turn away from her.

Unfortunately, their relationship didn't fully satisfy Lemon physically but she was too afraid to bring that up, and she sought out more and more erotic fiction of higher degrees of kink than she'd ever done with October. At some point, even the books didn't satisfy her, and she started writing her own stories to meet her very specific wants and needs. Since she worked as an editor, she often had the stories of other ponies in her house and would have to send it back to them or their manager after revising it. One day, on accident, she had sent an erotic story she had written her to a manager. Before she even noticed the mistake, the manager had rushed to her to discuss publishing the book. While she was afraid, there was also a bit of excitement in the idea of knowing other ponies would read her work, she after a lot of convincing she finally agreed.

Then came the fan mail. She instructed her manager to keep the fan mail at her office so that October wouldn't see it as Lemon was still unsure about telling him about everything, trying to find the right moment. Her manager insisted that she read some of the letters though, that she deserved to be praised, and she finally agreed to take one with her to read. At home she read a very heartfelt letter from another mare who had read her story and connected to it deeply, explaining that she knew she wasn't crazy for the desires she felt just because of reading Lemon's story, and the profound joy Lemon felt in that moment, to have shared a part of herself she always hid and get that kind of response back, had finally made everything click for her… a bright light shown throughout the entire house as she finally received her cutie mark.

TL;DR — She hides her sexual desires from everyone, even her boyfriend, and writes an erotic story that is accidentally sent to a publishing manager who then publishes the story. After reading a heartfelt fan letter about the fan finally accepting herself and her desires because of Lemon's story, Lemon realizes that's what she wants to do in life, to make others feel like that with her work, and receives her cutie mark with a bright flash of light.

Relationship: (Cutie mark story continued) Unbeknownst to Lemon, October had just walked into the house when she received her cutie mark and was astounded by the blinding light that filled the entire house. Thinking something bad might have happened, he rushed to Lemon and finds her crying over the fan letter, a beautiful new cutie mark on her flank. In that moment, Lemon is forced to explain how she got to this point so they sit down for a long talk while she tells her story. October is quiet at first, taking in all the new information about his girlfriend, the mare he loves, until he finally bursts. He's not just angry, he's furious.

He feels betrayed, disrespected, and stupid for how she lied to him for over two years. To not only find out that he wasn't satisfying her but also that she felt she had to lie and sneak around reading and writing that… filth! He's disgusted with her, can't believe this is the same mare he thought he loved, wanted to be with forever. After screaming at her, getting out all of his frustration, he finally comes down from the high of anger and sees Lemon is crying and shaking while cowering away from him against the wall. At that point, he's disgusted with himself, and he runs out of the house.

Their relationship is never the same after that, and when emotions have cooled enough for the two be civil, they both agree to part ways.

The reaction from October cemented something in Lemon, the fact that the ones she loves may very well not love her when they find out the truth about her, and she comes to resent her cutie mark a bit. Whenever others asked what her cutie mark represents, she lies and tells them she made a lemon pie that made her feel happier than anything else in the world has. To still find that joy, she continues to write and publish stories, all under a fake name, finding the fan letters to be the only things that give her the all powerful happiness.

Family Info: Lemon's mother, Citrus Bearer, had gotten drunk and had a one night stand with a charming crystal pony who wandered into her tiny little town, leaving in the morning before she could wake up or even get his name. She never saw him again, that is until she saw his eyes looking up at her from the tiny little baby her arms. This baby was hers, that's all that mattered to Citrus, and she lovingly named her Sweet Little Lemon.

Citrus would go on to marry a kind local colt who would bless her with 12 more mouths to feed, but as luck would have it he was a rather wealthy sales pony so they never struggled too bad. He went by the name Sugar Daddy, he'd actually changed it from Barebuck Hicks when he started working, and he was as sweet and charming as the day is long. He took good care of his family, worked hard for them, but that meant he also wasn't home much. Lemon never felt very close to Sugar Daddy, they didn't have time to create a very powerful bond, but she appreciated him for taking care of her and her mother and then all of her siblings as well.

The Citrus Sugar brood are all named after… you guessed it, citrus fruit lol here are their names. (Maybe I'll draw a few one day.)

Alicorn Ascension: By the time Lemon is 26, she is a critically acclaimed and highly accomplished author, having published a dozen erotic fantasy romance novels, but no one actually knows who she is. She keeps to herself, not getting close to anyone, and find her only real connections with her readers and fans. Her family doesn't know about her writing, her friends don't, and she never enters into another relationship. She does enjoy a little kink play of varying degrees in a secret kink group she travels to meet with, but she hides her identity there as well.

She knows what she does isn't that important, though she loves it still, so when she gets a call from her manager about a very special guest in the office… she doesn't believe it until she lays her eyes upon her.

Having traveled to meet the famous author specifically, Princess Cadence of the Crystal Empire stands before Lemon smiling brightly. At first Lemon is aww struck, shocked that this is really happening, until she regains her composure and drops to bow to the princess. Cadence gestures for her to rise, saying she's a big fan, and asks if Lemon would be willing to travel to the Crystal Empire to do some work for her. While she is unsure what use she could be to the royal family, Lemon is simply unable to refuse and leaves with her that day after sending a note to her family about the business trip.

During the trip to Crystal Empire, Cadence explains what she needs Lemon's help with. As Cadence is the princess of love, she understands love on many different levels, she can feel it as it changes and can see it as it grows, there is little she doesn't know about love. She explains that she represents romantic love, the kind between couples, the trust and devotion, the loyalty and sacrifice. While her daughter, Princess Flurry Heart, now an adult, represents familial love. Flurry uses her magical intuition and abilities to heal the hearts of families whose love remains but is weakened by pain and mistrust. She councils families mostly, but she has an innate ability to understand the love they're feeling as well as how to heal and grow it stronger.

There is one type of love that neither mother nor daughter are fully equipped to handle, that is physical love. This is where Lemon comes in. Cadence had been working on finding herself a successor of some kind, much like how Celestia had found the now ruling Princess Twilight, and had stumbled upon one of Lemon's books. The feeling she got while reading Lemon's book was hard for her to explain as Lemon wasn't familiar with alicorn or even unicorn magic, but Cadence was sure it was a sign that Lemon was to be her student and possible successor. She wanted to take Lemon under her wing, teach her what she could about the magic love held, and hopefully cultivate the love magic within her. While this wasn't entirely new territory for the princess, she still was a tad unsure of where this path would take them. All she knew, knew with all the love in her heart, was that Lemon was the one she needed for this.

Lemon may not have understood it at that moment, but she felt something in her heart that said to follow Princess Cadence's guidance, so she did.
