"I'm sorry Lightning. But unfortunately you can't join us…"

, Lightning has been an attention-seeker ever since an event happened regarding joining the Wonderbolts for young fliers. It's a new program known as the Young Wonders Program, dedicated to training incredible young pegasus into becoming young prodigies and future Wonderbolts. (This program was founded and conducted by Rainbow Dash, btw). And now, the context ⬇️.

Ever since Lightning was a young pony, they've simply always wanted to be a marvelous Wonderbolt, such as their parents, Rainbow Dash and Soarin. After seeing their older siblings, Cascade and Cloudy, join the Wonderbolts, through the Young Wonders Program, they knew that it was their time to join as well. The day came, when the young trainee Lightning joined at the age of 13. At the time, Light had yet to earn their cutie mark, but they would soon. A year or so into Light's training, Light and their other crewmates were given an ultimate test, a race of speed, to see who would win and make it into the Young Wonders Program. Well, long story short, Lightning was the victor in this race… but not in the greatest way. Lightning, determined to win, ended up unlocking their godspeed, gaining their cutie mark, but unfortunately ended up injuring the other trainees in the process… At this time, RD was Light's coach, and the one who witnessed the whole incident. At first RD was astonished, but realized the condition of her trainees when they all came fluttering back sorrowful. RD knew what she would have to do in return for Lightning's performance. Since Light was unbelievably fast, and fast enough to injure other contestants, RD had to reluctantly disqualify Lightning. It wasn't a fair game, and the Wonderbolts don't play unfairly in their cooperation. Poor Lightning was heartbroken and almost felt betrayed by their own mother to hear the sudden bad news.

This ultimately led Light down a dark time of jealousy towards their older siblings, bitterness towards their parents, especially RD, and ungratefulness and anger towards their talent. But fortunately, little Lightning did move on, however this event still lightly pains them and causes their heart to ache with bitterness. As a result, Lightning would then use their lightspeed powers to search for something to do, like 10 similar jobs in 10 different locations, in hopes to keep themself entertained. This kept Light content, for the meantime…
