What if ponies are boneless living marshmallows with very little in the way of limitations on which way they can rotate or stretch their limbs? Sort of like pre-WWII animation with noodle-arm characters like Olive Oyl.

Bad analogy. It's like twisting your legs like you can your arms/hands. It's not impossible but highly improbable. Cartoon logic though, ponies don't apply to IRL horse biology, besides it's Pinkie Pie.
