However this happiness and bonding wouldn't last. TK was 5, her little brother Console just a few weeks old, when her father's surfboard broke on a wave. He was never seen again and everyone believes he is dead. (He is dead) TK hasn't swam in the ocean since and is the only one of Artticius's children who remember him.
> Artticius met TK's mother when she and her children came to the beach in Canterlot City from Hope Hollow while he worked as a lifeguard. He had big dreams to study ocean creatures. He was an animal lover too. He also talked a lot with his hands and arms, his father told TK that's where she gets it from. After his death they never came back to Canterlot City until TK's freshman year of highschool when they moved there. TK doesn't know why or how he ever fell for her mother but she assumes she must have been very different back then. After his death there was rift between TK and her mother, not that they were ever particularly close, TK always preferred her father over her mother when she was young but the two could never bond over anything. TK believes it's due to her looks, being a constant reminder to her mother everything she lost when Artticius died.
