> Soulburst is a snarky and grumpy unicorn who is the daughter of Starlight and Sunburst. She grew up spending most of her time in the friendship school. Starlight was too focused on helping all her students that she didn't see that her own daughter should be attending as well. Despite being in a school about friendship she kept herself isolated. She saw students come and go. She felt like if she befriended one of them, they would be gone when they left and she would have to find a new friend. So she found a friend somewhere else, her aunt Trixie. When Trixie wasn't available due to her school duties, Soulburst used the portal in the Ponyville castle to see her aunt Sunset Shimmer. While she enjoyed the human world, she hated the lack of magic. She was a powerful unicorn like her mother but lacked a reason to use it. During her teenage years she discovered an ancient portal that had been closed for thousands of years. She began to overwork herself to try and figure out where it went and how to open it. After an argument with her mother she ran off to the portal and used her magic to open it. She ran through it to find another world. A world of spirits, ghosts, demons, and souls. At the discovery of a living pony in their world she was taken to the ruler, Queen Soul Wing. Who told her she shouldn't be there and that the portal had been closed by her over 10,000 years ago. Meanwhile ghosts and demons escaped into the living world. Some spirits feared the portal while others used it as well, one of which being Artticius. Their escape was one of the many things that lead to Twilight's downfall and the crowning of Luster Dawn.
