I realized that I never gave these two a proper debut in Sugarverse, I only gave them headcanon notes. So here's my updated version of the Cake twins!
Meet Pumpkin Cake, the oldest twin of Mr. and Mrs. Cake! A huge perfectionist and an even bigger grump, Pumpkin prides herself as a Cake Decorator at Sugarcube Corner. She has an intense love for realism, especially when it comes to making her baked goods look like stuff from everyday life, constantly making ponies question if everything around her is actually cake. Pumpkin Cake, forever surrounded by sweets and usually feeling overwhelmed by her own need for perfection, tends to eat her feelings whenever negative emotions take over. Her best friend is Halfmoon Cookie and the two regularly share their favorite recipes and complains about rude or snobby customers. She is slowly getting over her underlying bitterness for being passed up as Sugarcube Corner's new owner after her parents retired, even though she would have been too young to run a business on her own.
Meet Pound Cake, the youngest twin of Mr. and Mrs. Cake! An absolute foodie at heart, Pound Cake has taken his love for other's cooking and baking and turned it into a career that makes him happy every single day: a food critic. Pound has a very trained palate and is able to recognize many seasonings and flavors, even when they’re mixed together, and he claims to try anything at least once before deciding he doesn't like it. However, his intense love for food doesn't mean he doesn't keep very close watch on his intake. Pound Cake is an extreme calorie counter and keeps a food journal, meticulously writing down what he eats while others around him believe that he’s simply jotting down critiques on the food he ate. In order to balance out his eating, this stallion will work out with maximum enthusiasm, focusing on how accomplished he'll feel when he's finished exercising for the day (and how many scones he'll be able to eat after). Pound Cake is one of the only soft spots in his twin sister's heart and he knows it, usually begging for taste tests whenever she's working.
