Description:

Figured I'd share this idea since I've had it under wraps so long and I've been thinking about it again. Some of FNF's best mods are based on Creepypastas: Eteled, Ben Drowned: Mic of Time, Hypno's Lullaby and of course Sonic.exe. Now, MLP has a very humble number of mods(the only notable ones being vs Pinkie Pie and that new Pibby concept of Corrupted Twilight by Jakeneutron on YouTube), so I figured I'd throw my idea out there.

This would be a mod based on the series of MLP creepypasta stories Something Sweet to Bite, created by Knackerman. If you haven't read them before they're all still available on FiMFiction. There are also incredible readings of the first story by Emogak and its prequel Home Sweet Home by Scribbler on YouTube.

To summarize the story of the series I'll have to delve a little bit into MLP FiM canon, so bear with me. In ancient times the three pony races; Unicorns, Pegasi, and Earth Ponies, all lived in separate tribes. For one reason or another they all hated each other but begrudgingly depended on one another in order to survive an ice age. Earth Ponies had the worst of it, as they were in charge of growing food for the three tribes despite the unending winter and were constantly on guard from any potential betrayal by their more powerful winged and horned counterparts.

Going into actual aspects of the creepypasta lore, one family of Earth Ponies; the Patches, we would follow into the beginning of a long and grueling nightmare. Little Pumpkin Patch was infatuated with Unicorns because of their classy appearance and all the cool magic they can perform, so she wished that she would go to the unicorn city one day. Her wish would eventually be granted, as her father Cabbage Patch would bring her along on a work trip. While there, he arranged for them to visit a candy store owned by a middle-aged unicorn named Lemon Drop, who would proceed to kill her father and hold her captive. See, Lemon Drop was a heartless Unicorn born without a sense of taste, leaving him unable to replicate his grandmother's candy recipes. His business was failing, so he resorted to kidnapping and forcefeeding creatures his candy creations to impoverished children until they eventually died from starvation or lack of nutrition, a fate that unfortunately Pumpkin Patch was subjected to.

What Lemon Drop didn't realize though was that Pumpkin had an unprecedented will to live, causing her to eat his candy like a ravenous beast to stay alive, gaining strength with every bite. Eventually he'd run out of candy and leave the basement of his shop to get more, but Pumpkin was impatient. With impossible strength she broke free of her restraints and followed him, demanding more to eat. It was here that he finally realized what had happened to his prisoner. She had mutated into something monstrous, a giggling madmare whose body had become fused with the vast quantities of candy she had consumed. After being denied more candy, the monster would attack Lemon Drop, eating him alive and escaping into the world to find more ponies to devour. These events and the ensuing slaughter that night is the forgotten origin of the pony holiday Nightmare Night, and gave birth to a horrifying monster who would come to be known as The Candymare.

Now for a quick rundown of the story of the original creepypasta. Just a little longer before I discuss the actual mod. The three races would eventually be unified into the kingdom of Equestria, rules by the princess sisters Celestia and Luna, however the Candymare (let's call her Candy for short) would prove to be a serious threat to their new kingdom, so she would be promptly hunted down and sealed away in a statue of Luna. (They had quite the ego back then) A couple thousand years go by and in modern day Ponyville three kids named Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo and Applebloom; also known as the Cutie Mark Crusaders would discover an ancient book containing the legend of Nightmare Night and a set of old candy recipes. These three would end up stealing pages of the book and use those recipes to make their own candy in order to win a bet with their school bullies Diamond Tiara and Silverspoon.

Their plan would soon be discoved by Twilight and Pinkie Pie, who know the legend and realize that the candy the CMC have made are the same recipes used by Lemon Drop and could be cursed by Candy herself. They take all the candy they've made to a statue of Luna and leave it there under the impression that it will be purified by the princess herself. What they don't realize is that this statue is the exact same statue of Luna that Candy was sealed in, and close proximity to the very candy that makes up her body is enough for her to break free from yet another prison. What follows is a body horror gorefest of epic proportions, featuring creative kills, a very stupid decision on Pinkie Pie's part, morbid hilarity and a journey to stop a seemingly unstoppable monster who becomes a pretty interesting and entertaining character in later installments.

Now that the context of who this character is is finally out of the way we can talk about the FNF mod. The story of the main week is of course blissfully simple. BF and GF are transported to Ponyville probably by Daddy Dearest again(like vs Pinkie Pie), but this time it's in the middle of Candy's initial rampage in Ponyville. While wandering around the seemingly empty town they run into a happy looking filly singing as she skips down the street. BF being BF he challenges her to a rap battle, which after clearing up her confusion she wholeheartedly agrees to.

The first song goes by perfectly normal, but by the second song things start getting creepy. The dark background of Ponyville at night would change to be littered with Jack-o'-lanterns that are twisted to look like the tortured faces of ponies. In the middle of this song the filly would transform into her true form that I drew above. Candy's vocals would of course change with her new form to be more distorted and given her whole schtick is body horror she can have some truly horrific directional poses like Starecrown and Lord X.

In her third song the background would change again to have ponies running from candy zombies(yes those are a thing in the story) in the background while buildings all over town have been set ablaze. There would of course be a special game over screen that show BF & GF dismembered and turned into candy zombies with Candy laughing over a creepy theme. For the ending it'd be a cutscene where BF & GF are running from Candy and her zombies before jumping through a portal that immediately dissapears once they go through. Candy voices her displeasure at their escape and goes back to slaughtering Ponyville.

Now for additional weeks/Freeplay songs. There's a lot of possibility here with all the different forms Candy can take and the various characters featured throughout the story. Just to list them off we can have songs against Candy in her colossal form from the end of Home Sweet Home, Candy possessing pony Rainbow Dash's body in EQG human form, EQG human form Candy, Candy possessing Luna, Candy possessing Sunset Shimmer in EQG human form, Pumpkin Patch in Lemon Drop's basement before she becomes Candy, Lemon Drop himself, Queen Chrysalis, the Dazzlings, and Candy Ghoul Fluttershy. An additional song I'd absolutely love is a song of Candy having sung vocals like the Lemon Demon. There's also the possibility of additional playable characters in Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Sunset Shimmer and even Pumpkin Patch.

I think Something Sweet to Bite is an underrated gem of a horror story with an interesting character in The Candymare that deserves the attention other creepypasta juggernauts are getting, and there's a lot of potential for content in a FNF mod of it. I'd love to see this concept become reality, so leave all your thoughts in the comments below. Sorry this was so long, I just really love these stories and I tend to describe things thoroughly. I hope you all enjoy my art and my writing. Bye bye now!
