I've been like… really sad and down today because yesterday I met my father for the first time in 15 years and the experience… wasn't great. It wasn't horrible, I said things I needed to say and honestly things could have gone worse, but there are certain things that have left me feeling kind of worthless and alone. So! To combat these gross feeling, I decided to just do stuff I love… and MLP will always be able to bring a smile to my face.

I used a base to make this little drawing because I just wanted something easy to do, something I didn't have to think too much about. And I chose to explore one of my favorite ships in the Polyherdverse which involves two of my favorite characters, Twilight and Derpy! I also haven't talked about their relationship in any of my previous posts yet.

For context, at this time Twilight is dating Cheese Sandwich who is in a herd with Derpy and Dr. Whooves. Twilight was quite busy with royal duties but she always did her best to make time for Cheese. She would often invite Cheese's entire herd to the castle for a day together, eating lunch or dinner and playing games or discussing books of all kinds, and she was able to get much closer to the herd as a whole with the intention that one day she may join their herd… since she and Cheese were getting very close very very quickly. While she and Dr. Whooves, or Time Turner, shared more interests, it was actually Derpy who she started to feel more than friendship for.

While Twilight couldn't say she really had a type… she often found herself attracted to the playful and silly type of ponies, clearly considering her relationship with Cheese Sandwich. Derpy was also playful and silly but in an entirely different way. She radiated such joy and almost naivete with everything she did that Twilight couldn't help but find her adorable. Derpy was also quite smitten with the princess, appreciating the smart and sometimes adventurous attitude she had that was very similar to the Doc. Twilight and Derpy bonded rather quickly but neither acted on those feelings for a while… until after Derpy had her oldest children, the twins, and it was actually the pegasus that finally came out and said she had feelings for the other mare.

Twilight and Derpy were already close and Cheese had already discussed with the herd the idea of adding Twilight so the two mares didn't date long, Twilight having a double wedding of sorts. She married Cheese and then married Derpy right after at the same ceremony.
