Here is where we finally get answers to Anatanka's motives. She did all of this because when she returned to her people after Somnambula passed her challenges many years ago, she was shunned and ridiculed by the other sphinxes and drove herself mad planning to get revenge on Somnambula. After revealing all of this, she begins to break down and regret everything. Bit of a side-note, but my headcanon is that female sphinxes don't have long manes since they are supposed to be part lion and lionesses don't have them either which is why Anatankha looks like this without her nemes headdress. I guess this means the males would have long manes like male lions do, though I neglected to draw any on the males in that drawing on the wall. Ah well. Minor afterthought.
