Applejack isn't much for roses, but that didn't stop Hol Horse from picking between a gardenia and a sunflower for her.
He would've picked the gardenia without hesitation, but after a little trip to the flower shop and getting bombarded with flowers and their meanings, he's had to think twice.

"A secret love…" Hol Horse lifted up the gardenia. "Or adoration?" The sunflower in his other hand followed.

"I mean, I do like her. A lot." He mumbled the end of his sentence. "But love? I don't know if I can call it that yet."

Applejack held in her breath. She hadn't meant to overhear. She wasn't supposed to overhear.

"It's not like nopony ain't ever had a thing for me before." She grimaced at the thought of a fancy unicorn's attempts to woo her.

"But, he's not a pony now, is he?" She quietly walked away, giving him one last glance.


He didn't say another word aloud.
