"What are we going to do with you," Cheerilee said. "Surely you have better things to do than sit in detention all the time. I know you're a bright filly. I just can't understand why you keep getting in trouble for no reason."

"I'm sorry," Scootaloo said. "I… I want to tell you something.". She stood up and began to walk sheepishly to the front of the room. She stopped at Cheerilee's desk and looking down at her hooves, she continued: "I can explain but I have to whisper it to you."

"It's alright, Scootaloo," Cheerilee said, leaning closer. "You know you can always tell me anything."

Scootaloo stood up, leaning into Cheerilee and lifted her arm to Cheerilee's cheek. Before Cheerilee realized, their lips had met. Scootaloo's eyes were closed and her wings were buzzing wildly while she sunk in the kiss. When she finally slowly pulled back, she gave a longing look directly into Cheerilee's wide open eyes.

When Scootaloo spoke, Cheerilee barely heard it, muffled through a dense fog of confusion and shock. "…I didn't know how else to tell you," she heard.

It probably hadn't been smart, neither of them knew what to think or what might happen now, but there was no putting the genie back in the bottle now.
