Flying around with a rump like such can be a tiresome feat. Luckily despite his size Air Brakes carries with him enough endurance & energy within his wings per say strength to carry his heavy frame through the skies. The size of a rail worker pony and a wonderbolt creating a rough but durable shell of a stallion that can toughen through the worst of storms and winds to perform his acrobatics and stunts. Such flexibility then being able to back to the train yards to work his muscle to use alongside other worker ponies (in particular his fellow fusion stallion and fellow part time rail worker Nova Reactor:  ) doing the job of operating and even moving trains physically.
