It was the first day of school, classes had barely started, and yet Celestia was already feeling her size getting the best of her. She leaned back against her desk, hoping to keep some weight off her feet. But the heavy groaning sound from beneath her widened rear was pretty hard to ignore. Even her sister, Vice Principal Luna, heard it loud and clear from across the office. Looking up from her clipboard, Luna held back her laughter as her older sister continued.
\
“As many of you may have noticed by now, those changes include wider doorframes, larger tables, and sturdier chairs to provide ease of access for all students and faculty who have been effected by the recent… uh… outbreak," Celestia said reluctantly, unsure if that was even the right word to describe it. Regardless, she carried on with the announcements. "Another change we’re very excited to announce is a new lunch program that will provide second and third servings for those who meet certain qualifications. If anyone has any questions regarding the program or how you can sign up, please feel free to pick up a pamphlet from the main office or navigate through the respective links on the school's homepage. You can also ask us in person so we can ‘spill the tea’ for you.”
\
In spite of Celestia's best efforts to be relatable, Luna simply rolled her eyes as she looked back down at her clipboard, practically hearing the collective groans of every student in the building.
\
“And of course," Celestia added. "We mustn’t forget about the eight new vending machines that have been installed throughout the campus, as suggested by the students. Although we are always happy to listen to any other suggestions and requests on how we can further improve on things, we hope you understand that PE will still remain a three-year requirement at this time. Thank you all! Have yourselves a wonderful rest of your day and good luck in the new year!” As she concluded her morning announcements, Celestia took a sip her coffee and reached behind for another jelly-filled doughnut.
\
“Do you really need another doughnut right now?” Luna teased. “What ever happened to your New Years' resolution?”
\
“What? It’s low-fat. Forgive me for trying to enjoy myself a little.”
\
“Well, you have two wholes boxes back there. You can at least share some of that enjoyment with your little sister,” Luna said, putting her paperwork aside as she waddled over to the doughnuts.
\
"Hah! Little!" Celestia couldn't help but mock as she watched her larger sister rummage through the boxes, stuffing away some stray doughnut holes into her chubby cheeks. “At least I'm willing to admit that I've let myself go. It hasn’t been easy waiting for all this mass to fluctuate.”
\
“I know what you mean,” Luna said as she swallowed back the fried dough. “But could you perhaps not use the word ‘fluctuate’ to describe this whole situation? You make it sound like we’re retaining water.” Now with two treats in hand, Luna hauled herself over the nearest chair and lowered her bulk down, unaware of the audible creak coming out of her seat.
\
As much as she wanted to comment on the potential hazard, Celestia was actually quite impressed by how much the chair was managing to hold. So, she just shrugged it off. "Whatever the case may be, I don't think the students really mind all that much. In fact, you should see the way some of the boys have been staring at you. Especially since you've decided to go sleeveless,” she jokingly winked.
\
"Well, you obviously haven’t seen what they’ve written about you in the restroom stalls,” Luna cackled deviously.
