Description:

The two walk the halls of the castle, both silent. Lunar Lament was fine allowing Neon to follow her. She'd done enough following in her own life to understand the appeal of following mindlessly. No thoughts, just motion.
Motion of a kind she vastly preferred to before.
Lunar's eyes catch on the banner hanging in the alcove they were passing. A small pause in her gait turns into a much longer one, hearing the hooves behind her come to a halt.
"You know. You dwell on your pain an awful lot."
There's hardly a moment before Lunar turns and lifts her foreleg, stopping the pony from replying. Instead, Neon frowns a bit more, mouth slightly ajar. It closes as the alicorn continues speaking.
"You lost your wife and child. I lost the only person who mattered to me. Harthyr meant the world to me. My sire is dead, rightfully so after all he did. I have never felt my mothers love. My sister would prefer me dead and the caribou's culture reinstated. But she can't have that and so she settles for staying by my side as a mockery of everything I stand for."
Lunar could have Sigrid put to the blade, like so many other caribou, but she didn't… She did not want to lose what little family she had left. So she strung her own sister along, a cursed existence for her, for the alicorn's own comfort.
Maybe she was her father's daughter.
"…You're right. I haven't been thinking of others. It hurt enough to think about me."
Maybe it was time to move on.
