> I said in my previous deviation I'd release the design for how Luna looks in my canon next gen (in line with the series finale canon, not actually canon). Well, here is that post! If you're wondering why she looks like her season 1 self instead of the darker version people are most familiar with, it's because I headcanon the remnant of Nightmare Moon that caused her coat and hair to darken like that was unknowingly put in the day-night amulet, causing her appearance to change to be more in line with her younger self (and yes, I'm aware of the season 4 premiere flashbacks. I headcanon that said magic that caused her transformation was affecting her for a while before fully taking over. I'm gonna need to make a whole headcanon piece on this, aren't I?). She still keeps the flank cloud that may or may not follow her cutie mark, almost like a scar (pretty much like Hunter's possession scars from The Owl House). I decided to give her a more motherly and dreamlike appearance compared to her canon design because a) it fits more with her younger colors and b) it fits more with her gloomy but calm and caring personality as of the show's end. Also it gave me an excuse to incorporate the cloud-like affect Luna had on some of her concept art that I've loved since I first saw it in an MLP book I got as a kid. Also I decided to give her a scarf because…I have my reasons.
