"There was an eerie silence in the air after the last of those fiends fell. The battle was won, but not one of us was left unchanged. My very soul was rattled, and the fear I had felt approaching my first fight had barely left. I was stained by the blood of every enemy I struck down. My bones ached, my wounds stung at me, and I could barely stand. On my knees I gasped at the air, holding on to as much rest as I could. Endless tides of violence, so much bloodshed. Why did I think I could do this?"
