Born to Silly

Description:

Ladies and gentelmen of the pony appreciation team. Today I ask all of you a question: what are the limits of the human conscious and perception?

Aristotle, Euclid, Arhimed. Those brilliant minds have proven that nothing is impossible. Even now that the minecraft seed from texture pack's png file has been found, we start to wonder if our possibilities are trully limitless.

I think it's time we begin to ask provocative questions without any fear of being sillenced. Many of us, fellow researchers in the pony field, do fear about ponies not being reacheable, forever to be stuck in a form of a 2d plane.

This has to be stopped! It is time to put a legitimacy of those claims to the test. And with that I propose:

A PONY KISSING PARADOX.

Postulate:

If assumed that any given pony shape in 2d space does exist in 3d space as well, then it has to follow the guidelines of the third dimention respectively.

That means that any 2d form will appear to bend, curve and distort in relation of the viewpoint of the observer.

As far as we all know, any line in 2d drawings defines an edge between surfaces and thus has nothing to do with an object it tries to confine. Therefore we can definetly assume that G4 styled ponies are in fact 3-dimentional.

But unfortunately with that comes the pony kissing paradox.

First, let's define how certain parts of 2d drawings cheat the rules of foreshortening to appear 3-dimentional. They use simplifications.

A simplification is a flat surface that can be put on any object to simplify its forms and features. Two dots instead of eyes being a perfect example.

That brings us to a sad conclusion.

THE PARADOX:

Any 2d character that has facial simplifications cannot be kissed because doing so would require a change of geometry that simplifications don't have.

Thank you for reading.

We should embrace the truth in order to move forward and seek for the resolution. Perhaps there is a way to kiss a pony but it's yet to be discovered.

(I'm also curious if 2d stuff in general can ever be made in 3d, with a use of some tricks like multi layering and masking.)
