Description:

Hey everyone, still working on some gift art and worldbuilding for a campaign I'm gonna start shortly. I know, I should have had it done by now, but my power was yeeted for days, so I lost a lot of time this week because of that. Allow me to inject some life into my upload schedule by releasing some characters I made a few months ago, with some slight recycling of some vectors I previously made.

So this is a little blue bundle of joy I call Caprice, who was originally just a pegasus. I knew that from his cheerful disposition, I wanted him to be some kind of trickster that went around causing mischief for other ponies (and probably tickling them silly too~ X3).
But I came to feel that was too close of a concept to one of my friend's OCs, so I decided to get a little more inventive with his backstory. And what I came up with was…well, you can see his weird curvy horn, right? >/////<

So in keeping with the process I went through to make him, Caprice was originally just a pegasus…albeit one from Pre-Equestria ponykind. Which yes, means that in the show's runtime he's over a thousand years old. Although, like the Pillars of Equestria (and Stygian) his biological age is far more reasonable for an average pony. You see, he's spent most of that thousand years much like his Lord and Master: petrified as a statue for spreading chaos.

His Lord and Master of course, being everyone's favourite Draconequus and John de Lancie character: Discord. You see, his penchant for devil-may-care troublemaking did not mesh well with ancient pegasi society, a military junta with a strict adherence to order and hierarchy. His disciplinary record was abysmal, and the most dignified place he could land in polite society was cleaning out the barracks. So he simply decided to leave, figuring that he would not be missed…or at least his superiors wouldn't care enough to bother looking for him.

For a time he was a wanderer, but his soul-searching sojourn lead him into the reach of Discord. Most ponies where frightened of the spirit of chaos, and where menaced by his unceasing whimsy…one which constantly demanded entertainment at the expense of tormented equines. But where others saw only an erratic force of misery and suffering, Caprice found a kindred spirit, and at long last a liege he could feel proud to serve.

Those of you who have played the Elder Scrolls might be familiar with the Daedric Quests, where after completing an urgent task for a Prince, they reward their agent with an artefact and name them their champion. Well, Caprice has a similar relationship with Discord, a loyal agent of chaos and mischief who has no small amount of fun in helping his Chosen Lord cause trouble wherever needed or asked. His horn is a manifestation of the tiny shard of the Chaos Spirit's vast power that was placed into him, allowing him to manifest a small (but by no means insignificant) amount of magic.

For those who are wondering, it should be noted that Caprice is not a true alicorn and does not share their immortality or level of power. While he would certainly be an unstoppable for the common pony, Unicorn Twilight Sparkle would have stood a decent chance in besting him in a one-on-one magical duel. And compared to Alicorn Twilight, he would be no match at all. He is not a powerhouse that duels with gods and demons, merely a loyal servant who devotes his life to being an extension of Discord's will. To take on tasks that his Master cannot be bothered with, if only because he has something far more devious in mind.

Okay, that's all for this cute little chaos-pega-fluff. Hope you enjoyed a little bit of storytime, and if not…well I hope you at least think he's an adorable little bundle of joy. :3
