An established photographer mentoring Shutterbug. Likes to 'stalk' the princesses to find a scoop on them, in an attempt to get in her mother's (Starlight's) good books- Trixie wishes she wouldn't. Secretly very good at magic as a result of her heritage, but is too afraid to show it following Starlight's public disgrace. Was raised single-handedly (hoofedly?) by Trixie.
Starlight is still a villain in this next-gen AU (she was a great villain, she was an AWFUL protagonist) and following Starburst and Twilight's 'relationship', she pretended to date Trixie in an attempt to make Starburst jealous and 'win' him back. This didn't work, and she left Trixie (and presumably Equestria as a whole), seeing Shooting Star as a sign that she failed.
