BACKGROUND & PERSONALITY

Being the younger brother of two incredible trailblazing sister's, he also wanted to partake in a leadership type role. Especially dealing with the military, because he's more inspired by his strong inspiring sister, Starlit Sky, who started a campaign for the mares of Equestria, called "The Mare Warriors". Solar seeks praise and respect, but also heroism and a sense of power. However, due to his overconfidence and arrogance, he may come off as a bit too extra for other's acknowledgement. So, attracting a crowd isn't easy for him, unless he changes his act. He more or less brags about himself towards others so he can gain approval from the many accomplishments he has done. But the bragging gets overbearing and annoying to anyone he meets. Then when he doesn't obtain the approval he wanted, he gets very mad yet very sad. Nevertheless, achieving his goal to become as great as his sister's is very important to him, so nothing can get in his way. Heck, if he has to risk his life to achieve it he will. Hence, he's very ambitious, and the more he carries on, the closer he is to persevere. In fact, Solar Flare has persevered in his life many times before, and will continue to.

Being a stallion of iron-will, he has participated in many sports and honorary academics, in which he's been very successful in. Short term goals like this helps him gain more confidence for himself and develop a noteworthy status. However, the reason he never really attracted such a big crowd was because: 1.) others felt jealous of his accomplishments, 2.) didn't feel worthy of being his friend, 3.) and or just didn't like his pompous attitude. Not trying to say he was "bullied" or anything, it's just that he was hard to get along with. I mean, at school he had much respect from teachers, staff, and students. But I guess he seemed "too perfect" to befriend. (Well, that's of course until he met Ignatius XP). Because of such ambitious behavior, he can also be very competitive and will compete in anything when he can. And since he's so good at winning, he can get somewhat bummed and envious of the competitor when he loses. He never gets tired of winning, but he will never settle for failure.

A great social attribute that he has is that he can encourage others without him saying anything. They can see his passion and hardwork in what he does and his frequent success. So that's great for him. However, though many have noticed his dedication, they don't admit it to him. He just naturally radiates a determined aura. Besides that, he's willing to help and volunteer, to show hospitality and trust, to gain more acknowledgement from others. He's not selfish and materialistic either and'll sacrifice his time, money and resources for others. This makes him out to be a very responsible and reliable stallion.

RELATIONSHIPS

☆Starlight Glimmer: His busy yet supportive mom. Being the new Principal of The School of Friendship, she makes sure that her son is in check, ready, and in top tier shape for classes and sports. She doesn't aid him in his successes though (being the principal and all), she allows him to do everything all by himself (if he so chooses to). However, she'll catch anypony treating him wrong and unfair, and perhaps may even fire or suspend them. She's very proud of her son, and is astonished at the amount of accomplishments he has achieved on his own. She didn't need to help him, he wanted to do his work independently. Solar Flare is grateful that his mother supports him, and makes sure that he's on top of his game. Howbeit, their bond is… alright >~<. The only thing they get along with is wanting leadership and power XP. I mean what more can you expect from Starlight and Solar's relationship, other than her being his biggest fan and him being her successful son? X)

☆Sunburst: Though they have a long distance relationship, Sunburst makes sure to stay in touch with Solar. Solar may not reply to his letters sometimes (because they're usually just congratulations cards), but their bond is great when they do meet. Solar Flare may not seem like it, but he's a nerd like his dad, and the two will start smart, long, convoluted conversations about rocket science or something X). Sunburst is also proud of his son and attempts to go to as many academic awards/graduations and regional/state tournaments as he can. (Btw, Starlight and Sunburst are the loudest parents in the crowd XD).

☆ Luster Dawn: Luster and him aren't close at all, but as siblings should, they love each other regardless. Luster is an Ambassador, and Solar thinks that type of role is pretty powerful for a pony to have. She was also Twilight's first pupil and now is Princess Flurry Heart's assistant and wife, which is fantastic! She and Flurry had a son, and he's so proud to have a nephew of royalty (his nephew's name is Apollon Prosperous Leone Heart, or just Lion Heart). He is so proud of her and will continue to be inspired. Luster on the other hand knows of him, but unfortunately sometimes she forgets he exists ;w;. She's so busy, traveling all over Equestria.

☆ Starlit Sky: Obviously the sister he's more inspired by. Solely because her drive is more risky and heroic, and Solar has been a stallion who supported heroism and always wanted to be a hero. And plus she's a mare, which takes more bravery and dedication (because the dark truth about mare's in the military, stallion higher-ups treat them pathetically), and she made a campaign. Like Luster, they're not "super" close. However, being the cool sister she is, she would send him encouraging letters and visit him when she can (with Sunburst). Btw, she lives with Sunburst in the Crystal Empire, while Solar Flare lives with his mom in Ponyville.

☆Charoite Glowstone: Now, he sees her more frequently since they live closer. Charoite switches between Maud and Starlight's home monthly, to where she even has her own room in both houses. She's like a ghost, because she's so quiet that Flare doesn't know that she's in the house sometimes XP. She's an abstract artist, and is constantly kept in her room making art or planning it. Especially dealing with rock art. Anyways, when they do get to bond, she's really blunt with her minimalistic words and is extra introverted. So their interactions are awkward to say the least. Still, Solar loves her and being his younger sister, he'll keep her protected (and'll attack anypony who wants to be her soulmate XD).

Ignatius Spark: Though Iggy may be a bit overzealous for Solar and slightly annoying, Solar admittedly enjoys his company. He's his first avid follower to ever really befriend him in person. Ambivalently, he'll invite Iggy anywhere he goes and make sure that he's on track with everything he does. They hang out quite frequently now, and are kind of inseparable. Flare would get a bit unhappy if Iggy doesn't make it to their little rendezvous point (which is Solar's home XP, or maybe the gym or a local park). Whatever's the case, they're good friends and'll do everything together.

EXTRA

☆Due to Solar Flare's and Lightning's strong connection to competition and wanting attention, the two may butt heads occasionally XP. More or less in a "I'm better than you," type of competition.

☆Surprisingly very good at house cleaning and cooking. So if he were to ever be a single dad, he's set. I can imagine he was the first one done with his chores and did cooking class as an extracurricular. He would actually meet his good cousin, Rocky Road, in that class. They were actually paired together in class. I can imagine them always making the best food, and scoring the highest scores on quizzes and tests about kitchen safety. >w<

☆Btw, the sports he's been in were buckball (I believe is the pony equivalent to basketball), hoofball (football), soccer, archery, fencing, karate, and golf. Almost every year, he would be in something different.

☆ Yes, I'm very aware that he's in a BIG extended family XP.

☆He's the one that calls Estella Princess Klutzy, because as a royal guard (in training) of Twilight's Kingdom, I feel like one day he would have to be Estella's bodyguard. And when she's with him, she would fall all over the place. And of course, Solar, with his quick reflexes he would catch her everytime. And she would be so bashful, and start crushing on him (typical Estella X)). It may get annoying, but it's also rare that a princess would fall for him, quite literally.

☆ Talking about princesses, he has as a mad crush on Princess Athena X). Anytime he meets her in person, he'll try to win her over with simple gifts like flowers or chocolate. I mean she'll take it (especially the chocolate >w<), but she's just not interested. She'll be all like "Oh, chocolate. Thank you kind gentlecolt, but I don't want to be seen with peasants like you," flicks Solar into oblivion. And you know what, Solar wouldn't be offended in the slightest XD.

☆ I feel like his voice would be similar to Flynn Rider from Rapunzel (Zachary Levi). Charming, yet with a cunning and whimsical tone to it.
