While the preeminent magic researcher Twilight Sparkle is here, let's either arrange to give her the Ring of Alter Sex tomorrow […], or even give it to her now. […]
Obviously, we should tell her everything we know about it, that it's perfectly safe, what Tattle Tail told us, etc. […]
With the festival's big event now over, a wave of sleepiness washes over the crowd, and ponies slowly begin to retire for the night. Such is the case of the graceful Princess Celestia who, after wishing everypony a good rest of their evening, departs upon her golden carriage to schedule a timely sunrise.
You get Trailblazer & Moonflower's Miniature Boat!
One by one, the miniature boats are dried off and hooved back to their owners. You get your own soon enough, and thank the organizers for a memorable time.
As you move along, however, you catch sight of Twilight Sparkle in the distance, along with Spike, Moondancer, and Dawn Break. You ponder if now would be a good time to heed Tattle Tail's advice, and give the princess your magic ring.
Moonflower: "Aww… I'm gonna miss boy Trailblazer! But s'probably for the best."
You nod, and decide to walk over to the group of unicorns (and dragon), if only to talk about it. The princess recognizes your party immediately, and greets you at your approach.
Twilight Sparkle: "Hey, you three! I didn't hear back from you after you went to visit Zecora. I take it everything went well?"
You tell Twilight Sparkle that it did, and thank her again for the help. That said, you coyly confess that you need her help once more.
Moondancer: "Did something happen? Oh… you don't mean…?"
Twilight Sparkle: "What is it?"
Much to Moondancer's dismay, you take the ring of alter sex out of your sidereal bag, and show it to the alicorn. You explain to her what the ring does, and express your concern about Tattle Tail's earlier warning.
Twilight Sparkle: "Hmm… I don't understand. What could be so valuable about a simple Disguise spell?"
Moondancer: "Actually… it's an alteration spell…"
Twilight Sparkle: "An alteration spell?! Then that means… wait. Moondancer, you knew about this?!"
Moondancer: "They've shown me the ring once before. I must've… forgotten about it."
Twilight Sparkle: "Trailblazer, this is amazing! Not even the highest level unicorns can cast this kind of spell, let alone an enchantment of it. Where did you find this?"
Moonflower: "Ooh! I got it from Lacuna in Canterlot! But I thought it was jus' a super fancy magic toy."
Twilight Sparkle takes a closer look at the ring.
Twilight Sparkle: "I don't blame you; the design looks deceptively simple at a glance. It looks familiar, somehow. I feel like I've seen something like this before, but I can't quite place it."
Moondancer: "Actually… it's likely related to the precursor artifacts of the Crystal Empire…"
Twilight Sparkle: "The Crystal Empire, that's it! You… sure seem to know a lot about this."
You decide to interject, and smoothly suggest that Twilight Sparkle and Moondancer could study the ring together. The latter near flushes through her coat, but does not protest.
Twilight Sparkle: "You're right! With Moondancer's boundless knowledge, and my magical expertise, we might just be able to figure this ring out. That is, if you're willing to part with it for a while?"
You admit that this is a difficult decision, but with the promise of a brighter future, you are willing to leave the ring in her safekeeping.
Twilight Sparkle: "If you're sure, then I promise I'll take good care of it until we're ready to give it back. But you know, if you're so fond of this spell, we can use the ring to cast it on you one last time. That is, assuming you didn't already…?"
Truth be told, you had not considered that. You turn to Moonflower, but find her muzzle scrunched up, and her eyes looking away, visibly trying her best not to influence your decision. And so, you begin to weigh the pros and cons of becoming a stallion — based on your very own experience, no less!
On one hoof, your smaller frame and soft features could get you mistaken for a colt around Apple Basket's age, which would significantly increase your cuteness factor. Plus, your in-depth knowledge of the female body would certainly show you the way to any willing mare's heart, just as it has before!
On the other hoof, your time as a stallion also taught you about some extra sensitivities to be mindful of. Speaking of which, a body speaking its mind so much more bluntly could threaten to give away some of your more romantic thoughts. That is to say, most of your thoughts.
But on the other, other hoof, you would get to be a stallion. A very cute stallion, might you add — almost unfairly so. You take a moment to think about it.
