After the events of the special episode Equestria girls : The rollercoaster of friendship, seamstress Vignette Valencia saw her plan neutralized by Rarity and her friends having put an end to her dishonest activities at the amusement park Equestria land, she intends to take revenge by attacking other victims.

One day, Cadence and her daughter Flurry Heart decided to take a quiet weekend at the Evefree camp despite the eventful events that occurred in the TV movie Equestria girls 4 : Legend of Everfree. While they were having a good time sunbathing by the lake, they were put to sleep by a powerful dose of chloroform by Gloriosa Daisy, the camp’s director, who was forced to work for Vignette Valencia otherwise threatened to ruin her reputation and career on social media.

When they woke up, they were securely tied/gagged to chairs in the bedroom where they were staying but didn't understand why they were taken hostage. Vignette finished attaching Cadence firmly to the chair and exposed her threats : "I know that you are the sister-in-law of Twilight Sparkle and that your daughter is her niece, you will use me as bait to lure Twilight and her friends into a trap since they will not hesitate to come and save you, especially your daughter who means a lot to her aunt and I have a score to settle with her seamstress friend Rarity who ruined my reputation at Equestria land amusement park.
