Far away from the glitz and glamour of Canterlot Palace, the ponies of the Lower Guard patrol the dark alleyways and forgotten side streets of Canterlot. Performing a thankless and dangerous job, clad only in cloth and armed only with simple swords, these Guardpones are in many ways the opposite of their more prestigious colleagues.
Drawn from the lower classes, workhouses and prisons instead of noble houses and universities, they form a blunt, crude police force who's loyalty and good conduct is often in question. But their effectiveness in the dark underbelly of Equestrias capital is hard to question.
