Sandstone Odyssey is a 24 year old earth pony mare originally hailing from Dodge Junction, a famous town located just inside the Badlands — and now living in Dazzledell Hollow. This pretty mare is generally kind and friendly, but is very skittish, as we will touch on momentarily.
Four years and 5 months ago, Sandstone was captured by a rogue pack of renegade Diamond Dogs and was enslaved in order to mine for them. However, she was not rescued until a year later, when Sandy Trails, a resident of Dodge Junction, was able to locate an entrance to the Diamond Dogs lair, and report back to her superior, Dusty Duke.
With this information, Dusty, his posse, and a group of off-duty Royal Guards were able to not only release the dozens of captured slaves of many different species, but were also able to capture the renegade Dogs as well, putting an end to their enslavement of others.
Unfortunately, it took a long time for the freed slaves, Sandstone included, to recover from their ordeal and, in many cases, injuries. Crown mandated physical and psychotherapy is ongoing for all of the affected parties- some of them being children.
Physically, Sandstone is currently in the prime of her life and is notably tall for her species being 4 feet and 7 inches, or 139 cms in height, and 89lbs, or 40.37kgs in weight. She has a good level of fitness in general, yet lacks a little in the stamina department. She has a long stride when running, but it also appears somewhat ungainly.
Ms. Odyssey is still dealing with the mental scars of her ordeal, and while way better than she was, she is skittish and easily frightened- especially if she sees a Diamond Dog, which leads her into a massive full-blown panic.
This is why she moved from Dodge Junction to Dazzledell Hollow — specifically to an area that almost never sees Diamond Dogs at all, with absolutely no confirmed sightings of the beasts in the last century at least. Regardless, while ostensibly friendly, she is simultaneously incredibly nervous, especially around bipedal creatures, including humans.
Here, she has taken up her love of painting, specifically the local natural landscapes of Dazzledell Hollow, in an impressionist-esque style. Being right on the edge of the Badlands, you have a mixture of wild biomes — rivers, fields, orchards, and prairie grasslands leading down to the edge of the desert.
Thus, these paintings, though not the most technically accomplished of their kind, have become somewhat fashionable in Equestrian high society. Naturally, supply is low, and demand is high, and thus, her paintings make a large price when they come up for sale — and she's not left wanting financially.
As Sandstone would say, "Money don't buy no happiness, but knowing y'all ain't strugglin' none… Well, that's just peachy!"
As her names imply, she does indeed love to travel- especially in the untamed wildernesses of Equis, but these days, never alone. Any time she takes a vacation, at least one, and usually four or more of her close friends will join her for safety in numbers.
Sandstone Odyssey is a confirmed lesbian mare, and while technically single at present, has been casusally seeing another mare on occasion- the Bureau is yet to confirm the identity of this partner, but we have assets looking into the matter at the time of the writing of this entry.
