The reference for this was a bit overly non-euclidean and possibly non-manifold for my liking, so I had to extrapolate a little bit and fill in some gaps. I'm not a very good artist so I probably did it wrong, and made it worse!
My last art piece generated a bit of a argument so I am going to come out of the woodwork and say a few things. 1) This art is not traced, neither is any of my other art. I use this method when I want to copy something very close: https://www.deviantart.com/viwrastupr/art/Tutorial-2-Measuring-and-comparing-349639929 2) No offense is intended with this art or any of my other art. Loosen up and relax a little, maybe smile when someone takes inspiration from your work rather than raging!! 3) I believe that people should be free to draw and share what they want. I am glad to credit people for the designs they make (and I have here in the tags!) but asking me not to draw them if I feel inspired is not reasonable.
With that out of the way… some info!

Cooking up a little something new here… An AU I've decided to call Prisoners of the Moon. Very original, I know, but there's a reason! It's fairly heavily inspired by another universe of the same name, as well as lightly by (I think?) KRD's latex Ark thingy, except, well, it's been tweaked to make at least a tiny bit of sense. A high-level overview:
Nightmare Moon was never transformed back into Princess Luna, and instead herself banished Celestia and plunged Equestria into eternal night, taking over as Equestria's — or, as she decided to rename hew new land, Stellaris' — new ruler.
The first months, years, and decades were a dark time, both literally and figuratively. Nightmare Moon had many who followed her loyally from the beginning, and others who complied with her rule to avoid punishment, but there were also plenty who rebelled, including those who worked in her own castle. Something had to be done to keep her ponies under control, and the unicorn she appointed to solve this problem had plenty of ideas. This unicorn had a special magical talent for manipulating latex — and, with the fact [ed: in this AU, as far as I know this is not established anywhere else] that only solid, organic materials can have life support and protection enchantments applied to them, latex was a perfect fit to outfit those who worked in and around her castle. With the right magical enchantments and additions of other physical devices, her ponies could be kept safe, while those who disobeyed could be kept easily under her control. Hence — the Prisoners of the Moon. It wasn't a horrible life, and some ponies even grew to like it.
As the years passed and new generations grew up to take the place of the old, this became Equestria's new normal. Nightmare Moon gradually softened up just a bit, and with the changes in her personality, took on a new form, with a new name — Queen Lunaris. Perhaps some of Luna is starting to show through? Most of the ponies who work for Lunaris are no longer Prisoners, though some like to play it in private with each other for fun. The latex outfits are still worn by many, and still preferred among the castle's Guards, due to their superior weight to protection ratio over other options like metal armor.
Also, nobody wears wing binders because why would you do the equivalent of locking up the blades of your military helicopter, and batponies aren't obsessed with mangos because that's racist.
Everything written above is subject to change if I get better ideas. Most of the writing and art surrounding this AU that I do will be set in the more modern time as described above, rather than the earlier times.
