The fuck is this talking about? The Elements were taken back by the tree, not destroyed, to restore the magic of the tree to hold back chaos magic and the expansion of the Everfree Forest. The Elements were destroyed along with the tree for reasons by Sombra.
I hate season 9 too, and season 4 was a long time ago, but you have to follow the lore. Who am I kidding, that is impossible task for any G5 enjoyer, let alone a G5 writer.
I am assuming that they are leaving out the restoration of the Tree of Harmony in season 9 due to length.
Not that I blame them because it is extremely retarded, but you do need to write that it returned to make a bit more sense of why you are referring to it later, though vaguely.
I am also assuming the vague language at the end is to both confirm what the art team did and simultaneously distance from a direct answer?
I don't know why you wouldn't directly state that it remains, stating that it is based on the old tree and saying it might be a magical tree. That is sort of important. And you guys never gave a shit about if your story correctly aligned with G4 or any implications that would have for the story, so why not just say it has returned?
If this is meant to be read as it is only based on and not the tree itself, which does make sense as the erasure of magic would have killed both the tree and the magical entity that resided within… seasons 8 and 9 were extremely weird… then I guess it really isn't the Tree of Harmony, and you are trying to tease that within this lore bible. Just say it is the descendant of the Tree of Harmony then. That not only solves why the tree is closer to the coast than it should be, but also why it doesn't look the same outside the general shape. The only problem is how can a tree that lives off of magic survive a total magical purge in order to reproduce and have offspring that are somehow not magical. I guess you could have just said that it is capable of that and there would be no direct evidence against it. But then again, this whole section is under "Tree of Harmony" which suggests it isn't the offspring. Man, you guys really can't do anything right.
